Last year I had the opportunity to work on a research project that includes a colleague from the University of Venice. As a treat, I travelled to Venice for a day's conversation and data analysis. For various reasons, we weren't able to complete the project in the past year. But funds became available to return to Venice to try to move the project forward. This time I was able to schedule more travel time, and to arrange for Lynn to join me. Lynn, in turn, made arrangements for our kids to stay with friends in Edinburgh, and suddenly we had a weekend in Venice.
It was a wonderful trip, not least of which because it was Lynn's first visit to Europe (other than Schipol, CDG, and a few hours in Amsterdam).
The following 5-6 posts will just show the photos with a few notes from the trip. The photos/notes are grouped by context rather than chronologically.
